It starts with a sketch.

I realised i haven't posted for a while, after a girl in work asked me why i had stopped. I didn't mean to stop but general life just kind of creeps up on you and pushes things you enjoy to the back of your mind. So i've made a mid year resolution to get back into posting, even if it is only me reading it. 

Recently i downloaded an app on my iPad called "paper" it is a drawing/sketching app. It sounds a bit dramatic but i literally love it... I find that its so easy to use now when I'm planning cakes. I can doodle to my hearts content and its not on scraps of paper (that i then loose). 

The sketches i do may not be anything beautiful or detailed but they give me enough of an idea of what I'm looking to create.  The only downfall of it is, the colours available are limited...but i love the shades they give me because they are so muted and subtle. So swings and roundabouts......

This cake was for a friend's parent's 25th wedding anniversary.

This cake was for a woman in work, it was her daughters 16th birthday 

This cake is being made this week.. For a friend who is emigrating (no prizes for guessing where shes going)

This cake is for Dot again (mr bump cake) .. Its her brother in laws 40th birthday and she wants a massive zombie themed cake.. Its currently a working progress.

Next week ill upload proper photos of these cakes but this is a starting point to get me back into the swing of things.
