When I was growing up my mum used to make me and my sister shaped birthday cakes every year. As much as I loved them and couldnt wait to see what shape she had come up with , I didnt really like cake and still dont. So eventually she stopped making them and replaced them with desserts that she knew I liked.
Then a few years ago, my friend was throwing a bit of a tea party for her birthday (and because we dont exchange gifts) I decided to make her a victoria sponge to accompany the english tea afternoon. It started life as just a victoria sponge and then (under my mums watchful eye) ended up being a ornate china teapot.
So thats how I started.... Many years watching my mum and then taking on my own challange. Now, its a case of any excuse for me to make something. I get excited thinking of what I can do next.
Although, they dont always go to plan and tears will be shed but eventually im happy with the finished outcome.
This will be an easier way to keep track of what I've done and share with anyone who has the same interests.
Always caking it to the next level.
(Loving my own jokes)
